Preparation for the show as of Oct 10, 07
Alright. So putting on a show takes a LOT of work.
I'm pretty sure the next few entries on this blog will outline what i'm going through to get the Nov 3rd show done. Maybe you'll find it interesting or maybe you'll sympathize with me and take me out for ice cream. Either way here it is.
In this post I'll show you the broad categories that are being worked on even as you read this.
Right off the bat you should know that the only way I can get any of this done is because of the amazing team I have working with me.
I have a group of 'life' advisors who help me keep on track personally, another group of 'money' advisors who help me ensure BTTV can be financially stable, another group of 'event' coaches (I call these my BTTV Lieutenants!), another group of volunteers that do the nuts and bolts stuff, and then a group of friends who stick with me through my highs and lows. (Believe you me I have both of them in wild extremes.)
I can't think of anything noteworthy that I've done that I could do without these teams of people.
OK, so here are the broad categories overviewing what the team is working on right now. There are a few notes under each to show you what i'm doing right now.
Marketing
-Press release on first rev, facebook 'event invite' out tonight, multiple targeted and unique targeted email campaigns to launch soon.
Web design
-The good folks down at randomtype.ca are busily putting on some of the final touches on the new website. I suppose you can see that seeing as you're reading it now!
-Official launch tonight!!
Print Design
-Posters and flyers next on the agenda. Again a big thanks to Randomtype.ca!
Artist Relations
-BTTV is booked up and BTTV-X has some good leads. I feel insecure about this job. I wish I could be more useful to the artists.
Set Up
-Matt (Lieutenant Matt) is getting the volunteers organized.
Sound Crew
-Paul Starling, who has toured extensively will be doing the sound again. Paul will be apprenticing James on the sound board this time round!
Food Prep
-Looking for someone to run this still OR maybe an existing restaurant can come do it??
More Marketing
-Trying to get in as many faces as i can on Facebook!
Door People
-Again, Matt is taking care of this.
Videographer
-The search continues! Posters up at SAIT and inquiries to everyone I know 'in the biz' are out.
Live Recording
-Kor is the man here.
Furnishings (room set up)
-Again, Matt is setting this up.
Finances
-haven't worked on this too much yet.
Tear Down
-Matt to coordinate.
Book Keeping
