I was about 23 or so when I discovered the real meaning of christmas - not the materialistic aspect, or family get together parts, but that it was a anniversary remembering a unique birth. The birth that split history in two (AD & BC). I now have a new belief I try to renew evey year - i use the marketing hype to remind me of how much I would like to give something to the lord (he was either lier, lunitic or Lord). I choose lord - what does the king of the universe need for his b-day? the one thing he does not have already - my total self. I do think we do reciprocate every kindness - it causes a reaction when someone is kind for no reason. I however dont react out of guilt, or inverted pride (inferiority), but now out of shear gratitude... nice to get ahead of the curve though... rather than reacting to kindness, be the orginator of it...
