I borrowed a friend’s phone for my trip to Vietnam. While it is not as cool as my iPhone it IS unlocked so it got the go ahead nod to suit up for the game. Today it announced that it was “Dating Anniversary.”
I mentioned it to Tash, who asked me if I knew when our dating anniversary was.
“Um, no.” was my reply.
Then she said something that may, perhaps, alleviate my shame for not knowing such an important date.
“I guess that depends on whether you’re talking about the time we went for the walk and kept you in agony as I worked up the courage to admit that we could “see where things went.” OR if it was when we went out for the motorbike ride to Bragg Creek and you asked me out and I said that “didn’t freak me out” OR if was that time when we talked on your front yard after all of that… ”
So, really, there is no way I could have known the answer to the question – seeing as Tash didn’t know either.
I think I should be able to remember the wedding date and her Birthday…

When did we start dating?
The countdown continues and I’m in Vietnam, so why not buy some of the stuff for the reception here?
I hope Canada Customs has no objections to me bringing back some party accouterments!
Thanks to the marvel of traveling over the international date line I have one fewer days to wait to get married.
Of course, I was always a little ahead of Tash in the timing of things.

Today Tash is getting her dress fitted. She claims it has purple polk-a-dots, giant frills, and a train long enough to make the trans-Canada Rail jealous. I think she could make any dress look good, but I think she’s just trying to throw me off the scent.
Wait till she sees the custom (apple green) suit I’m having made.

Tomorrow I leave for Viet Nam for two weeks. Tomorrow Tash stays here for two weeks. But what’s 13000 Miles between friends?
I will be pursuing opportunities in Viet Nam facilitating clear communication between Vietnamese and North American professionals.
Tash will be holding down the fort here. (Read between the lines: helping me make wise decisions there, planning the 50 million little things that have to be done for the wedding, and comforting my friends who will, no doubt, miss me in my absence.)
